MEMBERS

To be a member of a MC club is a great obligation. At the first look it seems that our community is very free, maybe because we never give out any member list (we have no such list). But we do have some rules…

Chaukerne - The Varangian Guards don't recruit members, we only invite (look also on the page “contact”). There is ordinarily only one way to become a member, and that is to be invited from a person that already is a full member (who wears the Viking patch and the bottom patch).

If you get an invitation, You got the right to use the round patch with the Viking at once, and that patch you can wear for the rest of your life, if you keep inside our rules (ex. Loyalty). If you wear the inner patch (round patch with the Viking) you are also welcome to all our parties and so on – without any questions and without any invitation.

The bottom patch (ex.;  > 4611 < ) belongs to a particular club or a particular area or compartment.

The top patches are honor patches, and these patches only a few members wear. Those who wear top patches are all VARANGIANS (top level).

There are rules of how to wear the patches (this you’ll learn as a member).

To wear the bottom patch you have to be approved by all the members that already wear that same patch. There is a prospect time, and in this time the other members have to test your loyalty among other things.

The members that wear the complete patch (the round Viking patch AND the bottom patch) have all been members for a while, normally about a year or two - or three.

In the particular sector / chapter within the organization of Chaukerne MC, Varangian Guard, can be chosen a President, a Sergeant at Arms, a War Lord and so on (depending on the size of the chapter). The president in each chapter most be chosen from presidents of already present chapters, but the members themselves can also choose a leader (more ways to do this). Anyway, all leaders will be approved each year by “vinterblot” by already present leaders.

All the leaders (President, Sergeant at Arms, War Lord and so on) in each chapter are responsible and answer only in the meeting “vinterblot” that every year holds about the twelfth of January.  These meetings are Chaukerne MC, Varangian Guard highest authority. Here all important matters come to an end.

All the Chaukers have obligations to follow the rules and regulations that I decided on”vinterblot”. The messages will be given verbally.

If you wear the complete patch (as seen on the picture on the bottum of this site), you have proved that you support all other members and you understand the rules we have. You are one of the members that we count on, and you are with us and have obligations for other members. And other members have the same obligations for you!

To be sure of that this ethics and engagement carries with all our members, will new members be tested a period before they get the complete patch. You will be tested in loyalty – and that’s it!

 

If you are a patch carrier, that means a lot more than having a uniform in our parties. As a “carrier” you will do so also in bad times... 

You don’t ask how your brothers and sisters can help You, but it is expected that You ask your brothers and sisters how to help them!! (Read that once more…)

Your catchword has to be” To give is more important than to receive”.

If you have respect, you will receive respect, If you behave like a shithead - you will be treated like shithead.

The patch

The complete patch is in two components:

1;

The round main patch, about ca 25 cm, The Viking on red bottom and with the text: Chaukerne MC, Varangian Guard.

The Viking is a symbol of our origin from the north (today the Vikings are spread all over the globe). The patch also has two skulls and they symbolize our lifetime obligations. In the edge is a solid rope that symbolize the strong solidarity. 

2;

The bottom patch has two components of numbers and signs. Ex:   > 4505 <  

The number belongs to each chapter / sector (the symbols you’ll learn more about as a full member).

As we already have told you;

The top patch only a very few members that wear. They have been members for a very long time, and they are the VARANGIANS.
